The Indian Fast-Food Revolution Has Landed

Ok, we need to have a serious conversation!
For 6+ years, we’ve been working every single day across the U.S. to make the food we grew up serving at our families’ long-standing Indian restaurants in Maine feel more mainstream & understood.
From the smallest towns in Texas to the shores of SF and the streets of NYC, it finally feels like the largest food brands are starting to recognize what we’ve believed all along: people are craving Indian flavor!
Just look at what some of the world’s largest fast-food chains have been doing around the world
KFC: Launched an Indian street food-inspired Crispy Naan lineup featuring Spicy Tandoori Zinger Crispy Naan & Original Crispy Naan.
Taco Bell: Fans overwhelmingly voted for the Butter Chicken Taco from Taco Bell India’s menu, beating Thailand’s Kickin’ Chicken Taco with 65% of the vote.
Dunkin’: Rolled out Diwali-inspired donuts for the Indian market, including flavors like Kesar Badam, Milk Cake, Soan Papdi, & Guava & Chili.
McDonald’s: McDonald’s UK & Ireland dropped its viral Chicken Tikka Wrap earlier this year.
Panera Bread: Introduced a Chicken Tikka Masala Soup featuring coconut milk, butternut squash, black lentils, tamarind, & warming spices.
Pizza Hut: Has long featured Indian-inspired offerings in Canada like Butter Chicken Pizza, while Pizza Hut India serves favorites like Makhani Paneer Melts, Tandoori Chicken Flatbreads, & Paneer Soya Supreme.
Subway: From the Big Bombay Sub in UK & Ireland to Tandoori Chicken in Trinidad & Tobago, and even a limited Taste of India menu in Northern California featuring Chicken Vindaloo, Cilantro Chutney, & Chicken Mango Curry, Indian flavors have found their way onto Subway menus around the world.
Burger King: Brought Butter Chicken to the menu in Canada with a Crispy Butter Chicken Sandwich and Butter Chicken Poutine before expanding similar offerings to Fiji.
