Does London have the Best Indian Food in the World?

Not New Delhi, not Mumbai, not Kolkata, not even Bengaluru. If we’re talking about the city that turned Indian food into a global phenomenon, it’s London—hands down.

London has long been the international stage where Indian cuisine reinvented itself and rose to worldwide fame. From the classic British curry houses to Michelin-starred modern Indian restaurants, the city has shaped how the world understands, eats, and even talks about Indian food!

And let’s be honest: chicken tikka masala being called the UK’s “national dish” didn’t happen by accident. The love for Indian food in London is deep, widespread, and culturally defining. In many ways, London is the curry capital of the world—the place where Indian flavors became global icons.

What do you all think? Is London still the heart of Indian cuisine’s global influence, or have other cities caught up?
